What makes a good teacher....

So I was going  to write about how teachers should care about each student, ya da, ya da, ya da.  I wrote it and decided not to post until I spent some more time thinking about it - thinking about what makes anyone good at their job or career.  I think it is passion.  I think if a teacher is passionate about what they are doing  than it will translate to the students and actually infect them with enthusiasm for the subject.  That's a tall order but it is doable.
